Lorde gets warm to see the infamous Pamela Anderson and Tommy Lee Sex Tape.
And to be honest? The criticism is not unreasonable.
In the midst of the discussion about gender and her friendship with Chappell Roan affected Lorde’s recent in -depth interview also the 90s most notorious celebrity sex tape.
Sexuality is a beautiful thing when it is private or when shared. But Lorde gets some setback and it’s not unreasonable.
What did Lorde say?
28-year-old Lorde did an interview with Rolling stones where she teased her upcoming album, Virginand dive into a series of topics.
Previously she has sometimes come as something judgmental About sexuality. Many years ago, for example, she condemned a Selena Gomez Bop because she thought it was sending a harmful message.
(She was wrong but no matter what – everyone makes mistakes we guess)
Either way, Lorde decided to open up to watch Pamela Anderson and Tommy Lee’s video after a psychedelic therapy session.
“I found it was so beautiful,” Lorde admitted inexplicably. “And maybe it’s fucking that I saw it, but I saw two people who were so in love with each other and there was this purity.”
She described, “They jumped out of this big boat. … they were like kids. They were so free. And I was just like,” Whoa. Being this free comes with danger. ”” ”
Sometimes celebrities share things in interviews that they could have free simply never said out loud.
This revelation does not get a warm reception for two solid reasons.
Why is it bad?
First of all, talking about the fact that the former couple is “so in love with each other” and having a “purity” needs a really important disclaimer.
In 1998, Tommy Lee allegedly attacked Pamela Anderson while holding their younger son, Dylan Jagger Lee, who was an infant at the time.
Lee would later invoke any context for abuse of spouses. He spent six months in prison as a result.
(In particular, older son Brandon Thomas Lee allegedly knocked out his father several years ago. Not all consequences are legal!)
The second question about people’s minds was the sex band itself. Because some celebrities have definitely shared their own nudity or even sexual videos on purpose.
Some have filmed their connections that intend to share them.
That’s not what happened here. In 1995, the first year of Anderson and Lee’s marriage, an electrician named Rand Gauthier worked at the former couple’s house.
After Lee allegedly refused to pay him, he stole a significant safe from their garage.
Later, in the safe, he discovered the sex band. Later, Seth Warsky streamed the tape online before creating a distribution plan with Lee and Anderson.
Although they signed a deal, this only led to the video becoming more widespread – not, as Anderson apparently hoped to limit how many people saw it.
The leaking and subsequent distribution of this tape has had a lasting, negative impact on Pamela Anderson
For Pamela Anderson, the question was not that she and Tommy Lee did not receive any of the millions the sale of the tape allegedly made. (According to the agreement, a court found that they owed a significant sum)
Instead, she felt great pain and anguish over this massive invasion of her privacy. The other painful moments of her marriage and the violence that brought it to an end do not help.
Maybe Lorde doesn’t know this. While this band on paper is distributed with (after the fact) consent of its stars, this anecdote is naturally disturbing to humans.
If you see a celebrity naked or see a sex tape or whatever … you actually have to tell people. Especially if you are not a hundred percent sure it was released, not leaked. Says nothing is free!
