Breaking Amish Star Gone at 65

Very sad news this week out of reality -tv universe:

Mary Schmucker, Matriarken about the popular TLC series Breaking Amish, died at her home in Pennsylvania on Friday, March 28.

She was 65 years old.

Mary’s son, Andrew, spoke to TMZ and confirmed her mother’s death and told the Celebrity Gossip website that Mary card had been hospitalized for a few days before finally losing her fight with colon cancer.

Andrew also told this marketing market that the rest of the family has been notified of Mama Mary’s death … and added that he was on his way to Pennsylvania from his residence in Arkansas.

Mary was diagnosed with colon cancer in 2022 and then underwent surgery.

Two years later, this last November, her daughter-in-law announced that the star had placed in hospice care, which means she was mostly focused on staying comfortable for the rest of her life.

Mary debuted in Season 1 by Breaking Amish in 2012 before returning to the Spinoff series back to Amish in 2014.

The program followed a group of Amish Individuals who left their traditional society to experience life on the outside, Non-Amish World.

Schmucker continued to be a central figure until she announced in a March 2022 Instagram Live that she would leave the show.

“I’m not coming back on TV, but many of the others went back. I would very much like to return on TV, but there are too many problems that don’t work for me,” native in Pennsylvania said at the time.

“I want to return but return, as we do now. I feel we should do a story as what happened after the show, where we are now and what happened to us so people know it, but they will not do it.”

Just a month later, Mary revealed her cancer diagnosis.

“I just want to give a little update,” she wrote through her private tupperware -Sales Facebook group in April 2022. “As you know, I have colon cancer and I am scheduled for surgery this month.”

Schmucker remained most out of the limelight in the wake of this procedure, where he first returned to Facebook cards in August 2024 to restore a post on how schools should teach the children to write in italics.

She also posted a Tiktok video from daughter-in-law Rebecca Schmucker and asked for help to raise money for relatives who lost their one year old son after a fight with heart problems.

In November, daughter rebecca wrote online:

“I make a prayer request about mom. She is not doing well for the past few weeks and can’t hold anything down and she has trouble eating. She is at the hospice now …

“Her pain has been so bad and they help with it. If you could, flood her with positive messages and pray for her to be comfortable and painless. Thanks!”
